Tight Chapters 9-12

After reading 9-12, answer the two questions below. Make sure you label question 1 and question 2 in your answer.

Question 1:
Why do you think Brian likes the quiet and wants to bring it back to his projects?

Question 2:
In the text, it states, “I cross the street and want to hug him. But we just stand a couple of feet apart and nod… I want to ask him if he ate. I want to ask him where he slept last night. But I don’t… I want to say a lot to him. He brushes his hand in the air like I should go. So I do.”

Brian seems to always want to say things to his Pa, but he holds back. Why do you think he doesn’t say what’s on his mind? Do you think he should or shouldn’t say what’s on his mind?

Q1: I think Bryan wants to bring the quiet back to the projects because with everything going on with Pa fighting with Ma and Pa ganging again, he wants the peace and quiet to be there if anywhere to get rid of all that.

Q2: I think Bryan resists to talk with Pa because Pa is fighting with gangs and seems dangerous, and things are awkward between the two because Bryan doesn’t like the gangs but Pa is comfortable with them. I think Bryan should pour his feelings out to Pa because he might as well get comfortable with Pa because he’s his father anyhow.

Question 1, Yes I think that Bryan wants to bring the quiet back to his projects. Because, with Bryan’s parents fighting and Bryan and Mike being worried about Alex. Bryan has a lot of stress in his life and a quiet place would be really good. Question 2. I think Bryan should talk more to his Pa at home, instead of when his is with his gang of friends at the corner. Bryan probably knows messing with Alex is not a good idea.

Q1: think Bryan wants to bring the quiet back to his projects because, he has a lot of stress worrying about his dad and mom arguing. Q2: I think he gets scared to say what's on his mind because he might get bullied by kids on his street. I think he should say what's on his mind, but only at home.

Q1. I think that Bryan wants to bring back the quite to his projects because his life is starting to get worse again. Ma and Pa are fighting again and arguing. Pa is back with his gang and everything is all messed up. Bryan probably wants everything to be calm and quiet, and for there not to be fighting.

Q2.I think that Bryan doesn't talk to Pa because he is a little nervous to talk to him. Pa and Bryan also don't have the best relationship, because Pa likes fighting and is in a gang. Bryan doesn't like any of that stuff. I think that Bryan should tell his Pa how he feels and talk to him about it.

Question 1:
I think Bryan likes the quiet and wants to bring it back to his projects because there are always people fighting or something else that is horrible going on. Also, he probably want's his house and his neighborhood to be a place he wants to be and right now that is not what it is now.
Question 2:
I think he doesn’t say what’s on his mind because he is afraid that Pa will get mad and freak out which might make him fight someone if Pa does that he will go to jail again. I think he should say what is on his mind to his dad but in a light gentle way so that Pa most likely won't get mad at it or take it to personally.
