Tight Chapters 6-8

After reading chapters 6-8, answer the two questions below. Make sure you label question 1 and question 2 in your answer.

Question 1:
Why do you think Brian has conflicted feelings about his Pa being boss?

Question 2:
At the end of chapter 8, Brian doesn’t know if he should trust his original bad vibe about Mike or just move ahead and trust him. What would you do if you were in Brian’s position?

1. I think that Brian has conflicted feelings about his dad being a boss because fighting people is what got him into jail in the first place.I think that Brian is concerned that his Pa might go to jail again if he keeps fighting and stays the Boss. Even though the two of them are not too close.

2. If I was in Brian's position I would give it a little time and get to know Mike a little. I would have a little supposition about him and knowing that he has gotten into a lot of fights. I would be a little concerned about getting into a fight because of him. Also I wouldn't want to go to his house if there was no one home and if he lied to parents about that someone would be home. Mike wouldn't have my full trust.

I think Bryan is concerned about his Pa being boss because if there is a fight, he is the guy that has to walk up to the opponent with his fists up. I think he is scared about what might happen to Pa. I would hang out with Mike but take what he says with a grain of salt. I also wouldn’t go to far in a stupid situation with Mike.

Q1: I think Bryan has conflicted feeling of his dad being boss because he might go to jail for getting in a fight, but his dad always has his back on the streets. Q2: If I was in Bryans situation I think I would take more time to get to know Mike. If he continued being weird/sketchy I might try to slowly drift away from him. If he didn't, I would continue being friends with him.

Q1: I think Bryan has conflicted feelings about Pa because he got into lots of fights being a boss and got into jail. Bryan might be worried Pa will go to jail again.

Q2: I still have suspicions on Mike, and I think Bryan should trust his original feelings about Mike. When Mike saw the picture of Pa and his friends, Mike regarded this as cool, But Bryan frowned upon this.

1) I think Bryan feels mixed feelings about Pa being boss because he's already been in jail for fighting with people and he doesn't want Pa to start fighting again and have to go to jail for it. He may feel like he wants Pa to be respected, but he doesn't want him to start fighting people at the same time.
2) If I was in Bryan's position, I would choose Bryan's original bad vibe about Mike but it would be a little bit less bad than when I first met Mike. Also, I could give myself some space from Mike but still stay friends with him so that way we could still be good friends, but I wouldn't be influenced by him to like more fights and stuff.

I agree with you completely on question 2. I would do what you did. I wouldn't let him get me in trouble.
