After reading chapters 1 & 2, answer the two questions below. Make sure you label question 1 and question 2 in your answer.

Question 1:
From page 7: "'Focus on school,' Ma always tells me. 'There will be friends later. The wrong friends bring drama, and I don't want them rubbing off on you.'" Do you agree with Ma's advice? Explain your reasoning.

Question 2:

1:
Yes and no because what makes school more fun is the friends and not all friends make drama but also if he is to focused on friends then he should focus more on his work.
2: his schools different because it sounds like he lives in a city and i don't live in a city. also they talk alot of slang and i don't understand some of it.

I agree because you should always study and not hang out with the wrong people.

1. I agree with Ma's advice because some people really like drama, and you shouldn't go hanging around with people like that. But part of me disagrees because you need friends in your life, but still should focus on your work.
2. Bryan's school experience and life is different than mine because my dad is the one that works not my mom. Also because his school is in a crazy loud city, he explains, and I don't live in a city.

1. I partly agree with Ma's advice but partly don't. Focusing on school is good so you can get good grades and some friends might rub off on you in a bad way but also it is good to just have fun with friends and not have to think about school.
2. Bryan's school and life experience is different from mine because he lives in a apartment and I don't, and he lives and goes to school in the city and I don't.

I agree with how you said some friends will rub off in you in a bad way, but you need friends to have fun at school.

I agree with you. Ma's advice could be helpful in some ways, but in some ways it could not.

I agree with this. I think socializing and making friends is as important as school.

1: I partially agree. I agree that he should focus on school and that the wrong friends bring drama, but I don't think it is good to completely focus on school and not have any friends. If you are so focused on your schoolwork, you won't have any time for friends.
2: One thing that is different is that he is kind of walking around the city all by himself and isn't with his parents that much.

I like the point you bring up, "if you are so focused on schoolwork, you won't have any time for friends."

I agree with you both, having friends plays an important role and not having any and just focusing on school isn't great most of the time.

1. I disagree because he can keep trying to find a friend if they cause drama because he lives in the city and there are many people there to be friends with. 2. Bryan's school experience is different from mine because he lives in the city. Also, he lives in an apartment in a busy place so getting to and from school can be a hassle.

That's a good point how you said if some friends cause drama, there are a lot of other people in the city to be friends with.

There can sometimes be good friends and bad friends, I agree with you.

I agree but also disagree with your first point. Sometimes there are bad friends and just because there are a lot of people doesn't mean they are all good.

Question 1
I mostly agree, the reason I feel this way is because everyone should have a friend or two even with school work and other activities. But you don’t want a friend that is going to be bad for you and make you unhappy.

Question 2
His life is very different because most of my time I’m at school and or gymnastics. I also live in a small town on a quiet instead of a busy city

My life is very different, too. I agree with you because you should have a friend, but still study.
