Tight Chapter 3-5

After reading chapters 3-5, answer the two questions below. Make sure you label question 1 and question 2 in your answer.

Question 1:
How did Brian’s opinion of Mike change throughout these three chapters? Why?

Question 2:
Make a prediction: Do you think Mike’s friendship is going to be a good one for Brian? Why or why not?

1) Bryan's opinion of Mike changed throughout these three chapters. His opinion changed because Mike liked to play dominoes with Bryan, Mike liked comic books and knew a lot about the comic book characters. Bryan's opinion on Mike changed a lot throughout chapters 3-5.
2) I think Mike's friendship is going to be a good one for Bryan. I think that because Mike gets good grades, has a similar living situation, and likes a lot of things Bryan likes. I predict that Mike's friendship is going to be a good one for Bryan.

I agree with you that Mike is going to be a good friendship for Brian. Mike gets good grades and they have a lot of things in common. I think that this will be good for Mike too.

Brian's opinion changes throughout the chapters because he realizes that Mike isn't so different from him. At first Brian did not like Mike at all. He didn't like that he called his Ma, Ma, and he didn't like that he was working with Ma. Once Mike came to dinner though, Brian realized that Mike wasn't so different then him and that he loves comics too. Then he started to like Mike and now they are good friends.

I think that Brian's friendship with Mike will be a good thing. They are alike in many ways and Mike gets good grades so he could help Brian with school and get better grades. He is also one of the only friends that Brian has. I think that this friendship will turn out to be good.

Q1: Brian’s opinion about Mike changed throughout these three chapter in many ways. First, when Mike was at dinner, Bryan was not satisfied with Mike. Then, Mike got Bryan into a joke. Soon every one was laughing and Bryan begin to like Mike. After dinner Bryan found out that Mike liked dominoes and they had fun playing. The next day Bryan hung over at Mike’s house and found out that he loves comics so they had fun there.

Q2: I don’t think Mike is going to be a good friendship for Bryan because we already see suspicions of Mike when he said his mom was going to be there to Ma but his mother wasn’t there.

I agree with you about that Mike is a little suspicious. Especially when Mike says that his parents are going to be home and they are not.

Question 1: Bryans opinion on mike changed a lot. When he first met mike he did not like him. but after getting to know him he started to like him, after talking a lot they realized they had many things in common.
Question 2: I think Bryans friendship with mike is going to be a good friendship, but his grades will go down. I think this because on the back cover of Tight it says how mike might get Bryan in trouble.

Bryan’s opinion of mike changed because, once he figured out that Mike liked comic books too. I think they will have a good neutral friendship. I feel Mike and Bryan will have to go through a tough situation.
