After reading chapters 5-9, answer the two questions below. Make sure you label question 1 and question 2 in your answer.

Question 1:
From page 34, Travis says, “When people have low expectations of you, you can sometimes use it to your advantage… As long as you don’t have low expectations of yourself.” This is a Words of the Wiser signpost. What’s the life lesson here and how may it affect the character?

Question 2:
What are your first impressions of Mr. Daniels? Do you think he will help Ally? Why or why not?

1.) When Travis says this Words of the Wiser "When people have low expectations of you, you can sometimes use it to your advantage… As long as you don’t have low expectations of yourself.” The life lesson or message he is trying to get through to us believe in yourself and it will always help. Maybe Ally will now believe in herself.
2.) I think Mr. Daniels is a good teacher. He seems nice to the students. I think that he will help Ally because he just wants to help her and not get her in trouble.

I agree that maybe with Travis's Word of the Wiser Ally might have more confidence in herself.

I agrees how he just wants to help her and not get in trouble because he said that he wouldn’t make Ally go to the principal’s office.

1.)when Travis says, "when people have low expectations of you, you can sometimes use it to your advantage... as long as you dont have low expectations for yourself." I think the message is to not doubt yourself and believe in yourself. Ally might realize this and change things about her life.
2.) I think that Mr. Daniels will help ally a lot. he seems to be very kind and helpful. this teacher seems really good.

1. When Travis says the Words Of The Wiser, I think the life lesson is to have confidence in yourself and don't care about what anybody else says but you.
2. I think that Mr. Daniels is a nice guy and just wants to teach new things to students. I also think that he will help Ally a lot throughout the book because from seeing him the last few chapters, we can tell he seems very helpful and supportive.

1.) I think that the life lesson is that you should always believe in yourself, because if you don’t it will usually be for the worse. This might teach Ally to be more sure of herself so that she can pay attention in school and get better at reading and writing.
2.) I thought that Mr. Daniels was super nice and funny. I think he will definitely help Ally because he is kind of funny in similar way to Ally and is creative in getting Ally to be more sure of herself and be more outgoing.

1: These words might affect the character a lot and she might not think she is dumb anymore because she might start working harder. She also might think that if people have low expectations of her she has to work harder.

2: I like mr.Daneils he seems like he is really going to help Ally and even though she might not think so he seems like he is really determined and wants to not give up on ally. Even though he might think its hard to handle her he will try.

Question 1: I think the lesson of the words of the wiser is always belive in yourself and dont doght your self

Question 2: I think that Mr Daniels is a good teacher and i think he will help Ally because he listens and he knows what it's like to be a kid. I also think Ally likes him more than her old teachers.
