Chapters 30-33

After reading 30-33, answer the two questions below. Make sure you label question 1 and question 2 in your answer.

Question 1:
In chapter 31, Pa says, “I was outside Hector’s bodega… and Mike started walking toward me like nothing ever happened. It took a lot for me not to yell at him for getting you in trouble. So, I just told him I’m disappointed in him and he better realize I’m good to him as long as he’s good to you.” What is the significance of this event?

Question 2:
How are things different when Brian is hanging out with Big Will? How do you think Brian feels about this?

1.) The significance of this event is that it shows that Bryan’s pa cares about Mike a lot because he said that it took a lot not to yell at him. He also said that as long as Mike is being good to Bryan, he’ll being good to Mike. In past chapters, it has kind of seemed that Bryan’s pa doesn’t care about him that much and before their relationship was not great. But now that he’s back from jail, I feel like their relationship is better.
2.) When Bryan hangs out with Big Will, it is much different from when he was hanging out with Mike. When he was with Mike, they were breaking the rules and doing dangerous things like going on the roof and going train surfing. But when he hangs out with Big Will, they don’t do anything like. They usually go to the arcade or just chill in places. Basically, it’s a lot less crazy when he hangs out with Big Will than when he hangs out with Mike.

yeah i think that pa cares about mike and he doesn't want to get mad at him to make him feel bad.

1. I think that this event was significant because Mike thought that he was good friends with Bryan's family, but now that he was told by Bryan's dad that he was disappointed, he must feel really bad because Bryan's dad used to like Mike.
2. Things are different when Bryan is hanging out with Big Will because
Will is calm and doesn't want to get into fights and now Melanie treats Bryan well because he's hanging out with different people. I think that Bryan feels a lot better that he's hanging out with someone that's not as risky.

Yeah, I feel like Mike thought that Bryan’s pa liked him, but he’s now kind of disappointed.

1.) This event was very significant because it is showing that even though Bryan got in trouble his Pa still cares about him and wants to protect him. Bryan's Pa is angry at the person he was in trouble with Bryan. His Pa doesn't want him to get in trouble badly like himself and he knows Mike got him in trouble so he is angry at him.
2.) Things are very different when Bryan hangs out with Big Will. First off when Mike and Bryan hung out things were always crazy but when he hangs out with Big Will they just like to chill. Also Mike would accept a fight and Big Will just apologizes and moves on. Mike likes to do crazy things and Bryan and Big Will just like to chill. I think that Bryan likes hanging out with Big Will better because they chill out and are at peace. They also have the same interests.

1: i think the significance of this is that pa really care about mike even is he got Brian In trouble. he didn't want to yell at him as long as he is being good to Brian he is okay with mike.
2: Brian feels more free without mike and feels like he can be himself because mike always tells him he is soft and Brian can just talk to will and have fun without being judged and i think Brian likes it better but mike doesnt.

Question 1: i think this event was significant becouse Brains pa likes Mike and really hopes that Brian and Mike will stay friends I also belive that pa thinks some parts of mike are good.

Question 2: I think Brian enjoys hanging out with Big Will more than with mike. I feel this way becouse when Big Will and MIke are talking to the girls and Big Mike hypes Brian up saying that he is really good at mrs pac man Brian is supprised becouse if he was with mike, mike wouldent hupe him up he would just say bad things about him and say he was better.

1.I think the significance of this is that pa still cares about mike even though he got Bryan in trouble. he says, " It took a lot for me to yell at him"
2. I think Bryan likes big will a lot more and connects with him more. big will is also a lot nicer and hypes him up. Big will doesn't do risky things either like mike would. he is a good friend to Bryan.
